 Citizens On Patrol (COP)

Citizen volunteers in partnership with the community and the Department of Public Safety are an invaluable asset. An example of this partnership in Southlake is our Citizens On Patrol (COP) program. Citizens On Patrol is comprised of graduates of the Southlake DPS Citizens Academy who volunteer to assist us in keeping our community safe and free of crime. Specially trained by our police personnel, they are trained to identify suspicious activities, assist citizens, observe unsafe conditions, and to be additional “eyes and ears” while patrolling our neighborhoods and commercial areas. COP do not perform official police duties, however, such programs are credited with being a factor in deterring and decreasing crime.

If you are a graduate of our DPS Citizens Academy and would like to participate in the COP program, complete the forms below and send to our COP Coordinator, email Mark Fidler. Mark will notify you of the next training class.
